Ihastuin jo aikoja sitten amerikkalaisen laulaja-lauluntekijä Meg Olsenin kappaleeseen Corners of Bars, mutta en vain ole saanut aikaiseksi kirjoittaa siitä. Kyseinen kappale löytyy Megin debyytti EP:ltä Deal from the Bottom, joka julkaistiin aiemmin tänä vuonna. EP sisältää neljä alkuperäistä kappaletta ja yhden Morrissey-coverin nimeltä Suedehead. Tällä hetkellä nainen on nauhoittamassa kokopitkää debyyttialbumiaan. Megin musiikkia voi parheiten luonnehtia folk rockiksi ja naista on verrattu niin Mazzy Stariin, Neko Caseen kuin First Aid Kitiinkin.

I fell in love with an American singer-songwriter Meg Olsen’s song called  ”Corners of Bars” ages ago but I just haven’t gotten around writing about it before. The aforementioned song can be found on Meg’s debut EP ”Deal from the Bottom”, released earlier this year. The EP consists of four original songs and a Morrissey-cover called ”Suedehead”. Right now Meg is in the process of recording her first full-length album. Her music is best described as folk rock and she’s been getting comparisons to Mazzy Star, Neko Case and First Aid Kit for example. I look forward to hearing more about this woman in the future.
